Muslin products have a natural and durable structure. With proper care, they become softer with each wash and retain their characteristic texture for a long time.
The instructions on the product's care label are always a priority. However, the following basic steps can be applied to the care of muslin bedspreads and piqués:
- Choose a delicate cycle
It is generally suitable to wash muslin products at 30°C, on a delicate or gentle cycle. High temperatures can negatively affect cotton fibers and the natural form of the product.
- Do not use bleach
Bleach, strong stain removers, and harsh chemicals can damage fabric fibers and dyed patterns. Use a liquid detergent suitable for delicate laundry.
- Spin at a low speed
A spin speed range of 600–800 rpm helps preserve the muslin texture and fringes. Very high spin speeds can create unnecessary tension in the product.
- Wash the product alone
If possible, wash large bedspreads alone. Do not put them in the same machine with items that have zippers, hooks, or hard accessories.
- Protect the fringes
Use a low spin speed for fringed products. If possible, use a large laundry bag to prevent the fringes from getting caught in the machine.
- Dry at low heat
If a dryer is used, a low heat setting should be chosen. Alternatively, you can dry the product in a shaded and well-ventilated area, avoiding direct exposure to intense sunlight.
- Do not iron
The natural wrinkled appearance of muslin is characteristic of the fabric. Ironing unnecessarily straightens this texture. Using the product in its natural form yields the best result.
Evfendi products have been pre-washed. This process reduces the risk of shrinkage and ensures that the product has a soft texture from the very first use. With proper care, your muslin product will gain a more natural and comfortable character over time, rather than wearing out.
